Meet The Artist

Vanessa (Lamb) Kelly (b. 1993) is a painter and illustrator based out of Long Island, NY. Her style is constantly evolving as she experiments with creating unique compositions using shapes, color, and lines.
Her subject matter is self reflection and also influenced by her community. Through her art she strives to highlight the beauty of her culture and curls. She enjoys using lots of color and unique line work. Living in NY, there's always an opportunity to find inspiration from her surroundings. "I want people to feel good when they see my art! I want them to feel what I feel when I am creating it. On my instagram, Expressions by Van, my followers get an inside look on my process. I love being able to connect with my supporters, especially at this time where we cannot do so face-to-face.”
Van is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, with a B.S. in Chemistry. Currently, she is a Scientist at Estee Lauder Companies in the Color Lab. She has worked as a scientist, instructor, and other creative roles which often influence her own work and vice versa. When she's not creating, she loves tap dancing, cooking, and visiting parks and museums.
